Kinship is a beautiful and valuable thing that we must hold close to our hearts and under the watchful eyes of our guard.
A bond made of blood must not be spilled even if differences stand face-to-face the size of two mountains. Look for the common ground in the valleys below and ground yourself to earthen soil for arrogance has no place amongst kin. Treat your kinship with kindness and respect in a way that someone of such weight in your life deserves of such a bond. A bond established by someone much more profound than yourself.
Elevate your parents in your eyes. They are a gateway to becoming a victor in this life. Heed their counsel and remedy their displeasure. Seek not to leave the fold of their provision except that you carry the meaning of their names with reverence when you begin anew. And abandon them not till death must you part, lest you forsake yourself to a misguided life like a boat being carried away by the powerful currents with no anchor at hand.
A marriage can be seen as a means to entrust and uphold kinship. Do not fall blind to a greater purpose by your own passion and desires. The very thing man has come to despise getting in the way of a sacred union is also the key to filling his act with barakah (Arabic: بركة “blessings”) so squander not such a divine gift. The groundwork of kinship must be set in earthen stone for an intimate relationship to take seed; roots, stem and blossom.
